Day 3 Baseball Camp
The boys aren't as bushy tailed this morning after an 8 o'clock game last night but they are managing. After a couple of days running around a full sized diamond Noah said "my legs hurt and they don't want to go straight."
Storytime with mom
As I've been carting Noah around, Jenna took Cam to storytime at the library. We're always so proud how confident our kids are in new situations and it didn't take Cam long to be on the front row.
Baseball Camp Day 2
The boys had fun yesterday. We had a game last night and during warmups I had to explain to them we can't stop the game to make sure they have a 4-seam grip.
Subtle change to site
Only pay attention if you are truly interested!!!!!
I've been experimenting how to get video to upload to the site from my phone. The problem is exporting to a small web file from iOS to my ftp site. The conversion leaves something to be desired and I've been looking at presets. The presets are the typical web fair and then HD stuff. I figure with the advent of retina displays, high speed internet, and the fact that we all have HD cameras in our phones these days, it was time to stay ahead of the curve and up the resolution. So I've changed the content width of the site to 720 pixels from 640. To keep the site from being too wide I've dropped the content padding from 75 pixels to 15 pixels. It'll still be a little wider. Hopefully older posts won't be too wonky. We'll see.
The Many Loves of Campbell Christine
Baseball Camp 2012
Noah and his buddy Jack are at Dave Van Horne's Baseball Camp this week. Jack is really into baseball and big time into the Razorbacks. Noah is into baseball and the Razorbacks are just another thing to him like his school or his church. In other words, being at Baum Stadium is just another day. I think I enjoy seeing him out there as much as anything.
Go Blueclaws!
From our first game to our 4th game I can't believe how much these boys have improved. They are good listeners and we have strong leadership at each age level. Awesome kids!
Happy Father's Day 2012
It was a really quiet day around the Sullivan household. It started with donuts in bed, where Cam promptly ate my cinnamon roll :) At church Noah had a program celebrating the end of Vacation Bible School and then we had a picnic on the lawn. This afternoon I smoked chicken wings and thought of my Papaw. Then Noah and I played catch and I thought of my Dad. It was a good day.
I have pics of all of this but these 2 from the picnic are all I want to share. It's what Father's Day is all about.
Big girl bed
It had to happen eventually. Our Cam Moved up to a 'big girl pink bed.' Jenna's been looking for the right antique bed for the past month. We found one last weekend in Prairie Grove and went to get it Friday afternoon.
A little elbow grease later and she's finally a big girl. My sweet big girl.
(for the record her bedding isn't here yet so she's using a set of Noah's sheets)

Check that off the bucket list:)
The Slugger
Last night was the last game of spring teeball. Noah has shown a lot of improvement this year and his interest has mirrored this. Partway through the year we had our first home run on the team. After this Noah started trying to hit the ball high over the fielders heads but was only able to muster pop ups over the pitcher. I've been coaching him between games to just hit the ball hard and don't worry about the rest.
Well last night we finally had the breakthrough. His first time up he smoked the hardest ball he's ever hit right up the middle past the outfielders before they could get over and it just kept rolling. League rules stipulate the players stop running when the ball makes it back to the infield and that stops a lot of home runs. Luckily Noah knew what was up and he never slowed down at first. When he got to third (where I was coaching) the ball was in the outfielders hand running back to the infield. I was scared he would throw the ball soon and I'd have to stop Noah do I yelled and pointed at home. He kicked into another gear and hustled all the way home where he slid in safe. He was so excited. I've never seen a bigger smile on his face.
Bottle it if I could
The kids are in a really sweet place in their relationship. The past few mornings Noah has climbed in Cam's crib and hid under her blanket to scare me. She lays there with her eyes closed pretending to be asleep. I don't have the heart to tell him we listened through the monitor to him explaining the plot to her.
Watchdog Dad
Are there many things in this world as cool as being a dad?
Rotton Princess
Some families have crowns and crests passed through the generations. The Rotton's have a love for spring veggies. If only there was a Cucumber Patch Festival. She'd be the belle of the ball.
Noah's birthday party in "The Ring of Fire"
Noah turns 6 tomorrow! I can't hardly believe he's a third of the way to 18. When I talk about him, I still have a picture of a toddler in my mind. Then when I look at him he looks so much...bigger than a 6 year old. His momma is having a tough time this week with his birthday on Tuesday and his kindergarten graduation on Thursday.
sigh
Last Friday night we had his birthday party. He had his 5 best buds over for a sleep over. The party was a 'black belt' party with the kids completing 6 'Trials of the Animal Spirits' in the 'Ring of Fire.' By ring of fire, we mean the trampoline surrounded by tiki torches. The boys were into it and solemn when they were given their Warrior Headband.
The boys slept well but who wouldn't after 5 hours of hard playing. Donuts were on the menu the next morning and all I can say is I'm glad we don't have 6 boys. I'm not sure we could afford to feed them.
The Best Yankees Team Ever
Our orange belt
Noah loves karate. He's worked so hard. He came into the last cycle partway so he's been stuck on white belt for a lot longer than the usual 6 weeks and he's had his forms down pat for a month. This weekend was his first graduation and I know I'm his dad but I'll have to tell you he was a rockstar. He was loud, he had perfect form, and he had all the answers for the judges. It was made even more special since Jana, Melissa, Mamaw and Papaw were there to see him. Today's his first time to go with his new orange belt and he's so excited he can't stand it.
Love this pic
I know it's shameless but it's my website. I love this picture of Campbell from Easter morning.
