The iNotintrouble

I had to take Campbell to the Dr. today with Noah in tow. He was a good boy the whole time. He was polite, a good listener, and during the long wait he quietly played a math game on my iPad.

It got me to musing at the times my Mom dragged me along with my sisters to all kinds of torturous and boring places. What I wouldn't have given for a device in my lap that would have played cartoons, read me books, and played video games.

There is absolutely no way to calculate how many spankings this thing is going to spare Noah from.

Welcome to the Sullivan Adventure

Welcome to the all new, all improved, all us website.

I have had a terrible past 6 months with the blog and Wordpress.  The site was hacked 4 times with redirects to malware vendors.  I have researched the problems and in the end I just can't put my faith in Wordpress anymore.  Like many things open source, I love the idea but I have neither to time nor tolerance to deal with it's problems.

The current itineration of the Sullivan blog (this is number 3 but who's counting) is now hosted at Squarespace.  Squarespace is not free nor open source, but it also gives me the time and hands offedness (not sure that's a word) to actually be with my family.

One of the coolest things is visual editor in this baby.  It's truly unique and enjoyable.  As time goes on, don't be surprised by new banners and such.  The import of the old blog went pretty much without a hitch.

The one frustrating problem I'm having is figuring out how to get my embedded videos to show up.  I shall persevere though.

One last note is the url will change.  I have thesullivanadventure.com registered and this site will eventually be there but for now it is thesullivanadventure.squarespace.com .  When the CNAME registration is complete I'll let you know.

I'm going to have the previous 2 sites updated to point to here so if you click an old bookmark of macadactyl.com/lilbit or thesullivan.com and you find yourself redirected to here, rest easy and just make yourself at home.

Campbell can crawl!!!

We've had so much going on lately, I'm way behind on my posts. I figured I'd better start with the coolest news first and then update the other stuff in a few days

Campbell can crawl! She actually started a few weeks ago, but its just now become her primary mode of transportation. I captured a good video of it tonight.  Enjoy!

Water slide in the backyard

Yesterday, Noah played in the sprinkler while we worked in the yard. Inadvertently the sprinkler was hitting his slide. You could see the wheels turning when he declared he had a 'water slide.'. He went pretty quick but I'm not sure how much faster. He was pretty fired up about it.

Of course it ended badly when he decided to go down backwards on his back. Instead of landing on his back, he skidded on the wet grass and got a 8"X12" strawberry for his troubles. A small price to pay for a couple of hours of fun I guess.

Here's a video before it all went downhill.

Chomp Chomp go the teeth

We've had a pretty rough go lately. Campbell cut a tooth and we've taken a huge step back in her sleeping at night. A few weeks ago we went through two rounds of antibiotics for a double ear infection. Then to top it off she had diarrhea the past week. She had a follow upon her ears with the pediatrician on Friday and she's pretty sure that's related to...another tooth that finally cut through.
She moves a lot but I managed to catch a glimpse in this pic.

Big boy has wheels

Noah's buddy Jack outgrew his bike so Noah has become it's temporary owner. He does great on it. He has to stay on the sidewalk since we don't have a helmet yet but he still goes pretty quick.
Watching a kid on a bike is so nostalgic. I can remember being a kid and thinking I could go anywhere. Of course, our generation was allowed to go anywhere.
We've gone for family walks the past 2 nights with him leading the way so it's actually been a good addition to our routine.

That's my boy

Last night we went to eat at Hooter's. Jenna and I used to eat there a lot when we lived 1/2 mile from there but we rarely get there anymore and we had a hankerin' for wings, so.....

The waitress talked to Noah a lot and he was in a pretty charming mood. About halfway through dinner, he leaned over and said "Dad! Dad! I can see part of that girl's hiney (sp?) coming out of her pants."

We had a pretty good laugh but thankfully she didn't hear.

I don't wanna say 'Mama'...oh look my foot!

Just click and watch the video and you'll understand. It's big so give it a minute or so to load.

Good follow through but needs to extend...

Noah has decided he wants to hit a baseball right handed but the legacy of holding his hands like a lefty lives on. Yesterday, we decided to play the game where he tries to hit the ball off the tee and hit me. Of course he smoked the first few right at me and had me dodging and weaving. This is the best one after I finally got the camera out.

Home screen on iPhone 4

I love my new phone. The main reason I wanted the iPhone 4 was for the camera. The old saying 'The best camera is the one you have with you' applies to me doubly so. In the year+ I had my iPhone 3G I took over 1300 pictures with it (according to my smart folder on iPhoto) that I kept. So the early reviews of the iPhone 4s camera had me Jonesin' for one.

The pics (with the back camera) do impress but I have a new favorite feature. Wallpaper. I know this is on the 3GS and I know we've had wallpaper on computers forever but I love it. On the third day I took one of my favorite photos and after a half hour with Photoshop I had a wallpaper that isn't distracting behind my icons and puts the fam front and center. With folders I just don't use the 4th row for icons.

It's been a week and I still haven't gotten used to seeing them everytime I turn on my phone. I catch myself taking a second to look at them each time. Sometimes it's the simple things.

Time for the fam to get home!

I'm sitting on the patio waiting for the sprinkler to hit the vegetable garden when I suddenly realized what an old man thing this is to do.

Then I realized I just spent 30 minutes researching which $4.99 financial calculator to buy for the iPad and actually asked Bogie for his opinion.

I need the fam to get home soon before I make a run 'to town' for Geritol and start complaining about how loud the neighborhood teenager's car radio is when he leaves the 'hood.
